The worldwide launch of a new GOPRO camera is often an event, and the GOPRO 9 was a commercial success. We got serious with an ultra stable one take, featuring the european windsurf champion Martin Hovda, at sea in high winds and speeds. Introducing HYPERSMOOTH 3.0.
The launch of a new, furious battle format race, green, instant electric nitro boost included. PURE ETCR is the first all electric, touring car championship, broadcast live on social media and tv worldwide. These electric beasts feature quite a punch:
0 to 62mph in 2.7 seconds. We are instructed to follow up close, replacing the traditionnal helicopter with our electric high-speed drones.
On racetracks across Europe, from early prototype testing on the Nurburgring Nordschleife, to trials in Spain and Italy in 2020, to start and successful finish of a live TV broadcast season in 2021: our drones proved to be a valuable, resilient, fast dynamic video tool, completing the season with no failure in 280 high speed broadcast flights. Long formats videos benefited from our air support. PURE ETCR transformed into FIA ETCR; Dronemail continued to support its innovative broadcast format in 2022.
This movie was entirely shot with our second generation marine drones in February 2020. Flying in those extreme conditions proved to be a real challenge! Very high winds, 100% humidity and salt corrosion environment: we engineered a long range unique drone beast, overpowered, tailored for Nazaré. We met, spent time, and befriended mad surfers and jet-ski, security and SAR crews. We did learn a lot. To all of them, a big thank you; it is such an incredible experience to witness you defy logic, tame gravity, and capture those epic moments and weather conditions. We hope that through the drone FPV eye we brought a different point of view, translating the sheer speed, power, and feeling of being launched in tow-in, surf some of the biggest, meanest waves on the planet, before the storm.
